Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) celebrated the spirit of Ramadan through its annual Mega Bubur Lambuk 2026 programme, bringing together all 12 campuses in a large-scale community and campus engagement initiative.
The programme prepared and distributed 60,000 portions of bubur lambuk to UniKL staff, students, and the surrounding community, in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA).

Hosted at UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) in Sepang, around 1,200 volunteers comprising students, staff, and partners joined forces to cook the traditional Ramadan dish in 108 large kawah.
The event was supported by Sinar Harian, Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM), Mahsuri Food Sdn Bhd, Yayasan Pelajaran MARA (YPM) and UniKL Resources Sdn. Bhd (URSB).
UniKL President and Chief Executive Officer, Azman Senin, said this year marks the third edition of the Mega Bubur Lambuk and Iftar programme, bringing together UniKL students and the university community.

“It began in 2024 at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI), followed by the 2025 edition at Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI), and this year we are fortunate to gather at UniKL MIAT.
“I would also like to extend my appreciation and congratulations to the management, staff, and students of UniKL MIAT who worked tirelessly in preparing for this iftar. Their efforts have created a unique experience for everyone present, allowing us to break fast inside a hangar, surrounded by the backdrop of aircraft and helicopters,” he said during the iftar ceremony.

Also present were AKM Selangor Director Ahmad Shukri Haji Adnan, Advertising General Manager of Sinar Karangkraf Airol Fadley Limin, Non-Executive Director of Mahsuri Food Sdn Bhd Roslan Mahayudin and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Pelajaran MARA’s (YPM) Fund Development Department, Mr. Zainal Rashid Zakaria.
The programme began with early-morning preparations, followed by educational and interactive sessions organised in collaboration with Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM).
These included quizzes and knowledge-sharing activities aimed at engaging participants while promoting civic awareness.
A Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was also held to foster reflection and spiritual engagement among attendees.
