Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) alumnus and former President of the UniKL Student Representative Council (USRC), Zulfikri Zulkifli, was honoured with the Anugerah Penghargaan Khas Ketua Pengarah Pendidikan Tinggi on 1 October 2025.
The recognition was presented in conjunction with the Anugerah Tokoh Siswa Negara, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) to celebrate outstanding student leaders across Malaysian universities.
Zulfikri, who graduated with a Bachelor of Multimedia Technology (Hons.) in Interactive Multimedia Design, dedicated the award to UniKL, his lecturers, friends, and especially his parents, who have supported his passion for the creative field.
Now, he leads his own creative company, Bouma Studio Production Sdn. Bhd., which employs over 50 staff across full-time, contract, part-time, and freelance roles, generating six-figure annual revenue.
“This award reflects the hard work behind developing Bouma, supported by my family, friends, lecturers, and UniKL.
“Bouma began with a small dream, just me, a camera, and a passion for creating meaningful visual works. Over time, I gathered friends who shared the same creative vision, and from that small team, Bouma has grown into a professional production company recognised both locally and internationally.”
He said, Bouma’s vision is to expand as a local creative production company that penetrates regional and international markets.
By opening international business opportunities, Bouma aims to attract foreign income and contribute to Malaysia’s GDP growth.
“We also aspire to create more job opportunities for local youth, strengthen Malaysia’s creative ecosystem, and elevate the nation’s brand on the global stage.
Bouma is not merely about producing visuals. It strives to be part of the driving force behind Malaysia’s competitive, world-class creative economy,” he added.
