Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has outlined WE4ASIA 2.0, university-wide transformation and global expansion as the key pillars of its next phase of institutional growth.
The strategic direction was presented during MARA Corporation Sdn Bhd’s Group Half-Year Performance Review for the period ending June 2026.
The review brought together MARA Corporation’s subsidiaries to assess their progress, evaluate organisational priorities and align their strategies for the second half of the year.
During the review, UniKL emerged as the top-performing subsidiary among the 12 subsidiaries under MARA Corporation, reflecting the university’s steady institutional performance and contribution to the parent company’s broader education, talent development and business objectives.
UniKL was also recognised as the Group’s leading contributor to cross-selling initiatives. This achievement reflects the university’s active participation in strengthening collaboration, creating shared value and supporting the capabilities of companies across the MARA Corporation ecosystem.
UniKL was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Wan Ahmad Saifuddin Wan Ahmad Radzi; Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Kushsairy Abdul Kadir; members of the university’s senior management; and representatives from UniKL Resources Sdn Bhd (URSB).
While the recognition reflects UniKL’s progress during the first half of 2026, the university views the achievement as a foundation for further advancement rather than an end goal.
WE4ASIA was initially introduced as part of the One UniKL concept under the UniKL Transformation Plan.
The aspiration encouraged the UniKL community to aim higher, strengthen the university’s global positioning and work collectively towards becoming one of Asia’s leading universities.
As a leading higher technical and vocational education and training institution in Malaysia, UniKL plays an important role in advancing industry-focused education, developing future-ready talent and demonstrating excellence in its specialised fields.
The original WE4ASIA aspiration served as a strategic beacon for UniKL’s journey towards regional and global recognition.
It provided a shared direction for the university while strengthening institutional unity and its capacity to respond to the evolving higher education landscape.
Building on this foundation, WE4ASIA 2.0 will guide the next stage of UniKL’s academic ambition.
The refreshed aspiration will further strengthen the university’s commitment to academic excellence, industry relevance, institutional quality and greater recognition across Asia and internationally.
Operationally, UniKL is progressing through a university-wide transformation process aimed at strengthening institutional effectiveness, improving coordination and preparing the organisation for sustainable growth.
The transformation will support a more agile and integrated university, enabling its campuses, institutes and administrative divisions to work collectively towards shared institutional priorities.
