The spirit of sportsmanship, unity and Bornean pride came alive as students from Club Borneo Heritage of Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian French Institute (UniKL MFI) delivered an impressive performance at the Karnival Sukan Anak Sarawak (KSAS) 2026, held from 9 to 10 May.
Organised by the Persatuan Mahasiswa/i Sarawak Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PEMASRA UKM), the carnival brought together participants from five higher learning institutions, namely UKM, UniKL MFI, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Malaysian University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Universiti Malaya (UM).
Throughout the two-day carnival, Club Borneo Heritage UniKL MFI emerged as one of the standout teams in the main sporting events, clinching first place in both futsal and volleyball, while also securing third place in the Mobile Legends competition.
Beyond the mainstream sports events, UniKL MFI students also excelled in traditional games that reflected the rich heritage and culture of Borneo.
The team secured third place in the blowpipe competition, second and third place in sack racing, as well as first and second place in the musical chairs event.
KSAS 2026 served as a meaningful platform to strengthen bonds and foster camaraderie among Sarawakian students from different universities, while celebrating the unique identity and cultural heritage of Borneo in a vibrant and competitive atmosphere.
