Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) emerged as a top winner at the TVET@KKDW Technopreneurship Awards at the UniKL level, securing five out of 10 awards across institutional, individual, Consolation, and TVET Entrepreneurship Icon categories.
In the institutional category, UniKL MIIT was recognised with the Highest Sales Award. The campus also received the Best TVET Incubator Award, TVET Entrepreneurship Leadership Award, TVET Entrepreneurship Icon for Technology & ICT, and Women in TVET Award.
The awards ceremony, organised on 15 January by the Teknoputra Division, was officiated by UniKL’s Deputy President (International, Industrial and Institutional Partnership), Ir. Dr. Azmi Hassan.

Other UniKL campuses recognised included UniKL Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET), UniKL Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC), UniKL Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP), UniKL Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI), and UniKL Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI).
The evaluation process was conducted with transparency and professionalism by 10 experienced judges, guided by the former secretariat of KKDW’s Technopreneurship Awards, Bahagian Kemahiran dan Teknikal (BKT) MARA, ensuring a fair and credible selection process.
According to Ts. Dr. Mohd Nasrul Hakim, Project Manager of the award ceremony, the awards serve to identify, recognise, and showcase outstanding individuals and institutions that demonstrate excellence in TVET entrepreneurship, encompassing leadership, innovation, sales performance, and industry impact.
This is in line with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth for celebrating achievements in entrepreneurship, leadership, and innovation.
