Universiti Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP) and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) have strengthened academic ties by agreeing to co-develop structured training programmes.
The programmes will focus on creative and research writing, publication strategies, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in language studies.
The collaboration was discussed and agreed upon during a benchmarking visit by UniKL RCMP, represented by Mr. Ahmad Shahir Mohd Sahran, Head of the Centre of Language.
PUP was represented by Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development.
This initiative aims to enhance professional development and foster international knowledge exchange in language education.
The visit also facilitated discussions on international webinars, conferences, workshops, research collaborations, and student exchange programmes.
As a key outcome, a Note of Discussion was finalised, laying the groundwork for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise future engagements.
For the record, PUP, established in 1904, is one of the largest public universities in the Philippines, with over 20 campuses.
The institution is well-regarded for its high-quality education in engineering, education, psychology, and language studies.
