Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET) unveiled 11 sustainable cosmetic and healthcare product innovations during the Innovative Cosmetic and Healthcare Products Exhibition – Glam Day 2.0.
Developed by final-year students as part of their academic coursework, the products incorporated bioprocess-based ingredients and green technology principles, translating sustainability concepts into practical applications.
Among the innovations presented were face mists, oil serums, and other cosmetic and personal care formulations.

The product development process placed strong emphasis on regulatory awareness, including compliance with National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) requirements, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, and halal considerations, in line with the current industry expectations and real-world manufacturing environments.
The exhibition was officiated by Head of Section for Bioprocess Engineering Technology, Dr Nik Ida Mardiana Nik Pa, and coordinated by subject leaders Ts. Dr Zainatul ’Asyiqin Samsu and Ms Fara Wahida Ahmad Hamidi.
Beyond the showcase, the event opened pathways for future industry collaboration, continued product enhancement, and potential refinement or incubation of selected innovations.

Building on its success, UniKL MICET plans to further strengthen future editions of Glam Day as a signature platform for applied learning, sustainable innovation, and industry engagement.
The Glam Day 2.0 exhibition supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12: Responsible Consumption and Production by promoting environmentally responsible product development through green technologies and sustainable materials.

It also contributes to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by encouraging student-led innovation aligned with industry standards, and SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential, industry-relevant learning.
