Universiti Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP) has been crowned the overall champion of the UniKL Arts Festival 2025, reclaiming the coveted title after a two-year hiatus.
The victory was even more momentous as UniKL RCMP played host to this year’s festival, which brought together over 800 students from 12 UniKL campuses as well as other higher learning institutions.
The closing ceremony was graced by the Group Chief Executive Officer of MARA Corporation Sdn. Bhd., YBhg. Encik Yahaya Sani.

“You have all proven that art and culture hold the power to unite and inspire—through musical notes, dance movements, and every beat of rhythm—as a reflection of the true talent that exists among us.
“I hope that all students will remain committed to seeking knowledge, enhancing their skills, and actively participating in the various activities and programmes organised by the university,” he said during his speech at the closing ceremony, held at Kelab Golf Diraja Perak, Ipoh, on 24 August.
Also in attendance were Perak State MARA Director, Puan Yuhaniz Mohamad Padil; President/Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin; UniKL Deputy President (Student Development & Campus Lifestyle), Prof. Ts. Dr. Zalizah Awang Long; UniKL Deputy President (Academic & Technology), Prof. Dr. Kushsairy Abdul Kadir; UniKL RCMP Chief Executive Officer and Head of Campus, Tuan Haji Hisshamuddin Omar; and President of the UniKL Student Representative Council (USRC), Muhammad Anas Ishak.
This year’s Arts Festival was further enlivened by the participation of 15 schools, involving 60 students and 15 teachers in a special school-level competition, the National Quiz.

Held from 20 to 24 August, the festival featured a diverse line-up of competitions, including the Pantun Recital, Independence Drama, Higher Learning Institution Choir, Fiesta Rakyat Dance, Short Video, UniKL Idol, and the Merdeka Band.
Organised in conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, the UniKL Arts Festival not only celebrated creativity but also embodied the patriotic spirit of unity and cultural diversity.
