A team from Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT), SN33Z1NGBABY, emerged as the champion in the International Battle of Hackers (IBOH) held at Asia Pacific University (APU) on 29 November 2025.
The team comprised Haziq ’Izzuddin Mohd Shukri and Muhammad Ikhwan Mohd Nizam, both from Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) in Computer System Security, and Mohamad Haziq Osman from Bachelor of Computer Engineering Technology (Computer Systems) with Honours.
The Battle of Hackers is an annual Capture the Flag (CTF) competition hosted by APU.

CTF competitions are cybersecurity challenges where participants exploit vulnerabilities in different systems to find a “flag.” This year’s challenges were designed by APU students themselves.
Starting last year, the Battle of Hackers opened to international participants but remained divided into two categories: local and international.
For 2025, the competition featured two stages: Stage One followed the traditional Jeopardy format, while Stage Two adopted an Attack and Defence format.
In Stage One, participants competed separately in local and international categories, with the top five teams from each category advancing to Stage Two.
The UniKL MIIT team successfully competed in both stages, ultimately securing the championship and demonstrating their skill and resilience in international cybersecurity competitions.
