Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) has made history by winning its first overall champion title at the “Kejohanan Waja Diri Persatuan Seni Silat Cekak Malaysia (PSSCM) Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (IPT) & Jemputan Kali Ke-10 (KWD-10)”.
Competing across four challenging categories, each governed by its own set of rules and competition procedures, UniKL MIAT secured an impressive haul of three medals and a fourth-place finish.
The institute triumphed with a gold medal in the Exercise Method for ‘Buah Asas’ and ‘Buah Jatuh’ Techniques event.

It also earned a bronze in the Performance by a Pair of Silat Practitioners category, and a silver in the Demonstration, Uniformity, Formations, and Variety category.
The team finished fourth in the Variety and Formation Demonstration category.
This outstanding performance led to the Persatuan Seni Silat Cekak Malaysia (PSSCM) of UniKL MIAT being crowned Overall Champion of the championship, bringing home both the Champion’s Trophy and the Challenge Trophy.

The 10th championship, organised by PSSCM at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), saw fierce competition among 71 participants from various public and private higher education institutions.
The event also featured young talents from the Tunas Cekak (junior practitioners) and Remaja Cekak (teen practitioners).
The next KWD will be hosted by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Penang.
