Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) strengthened its mission to nurture future-ready talent through the UniKL Excellence Programme 2025, a two-day outreach initiative held on 19 and 20 November 2025 at Quill City Mall.
The event, organised by UniKL’s Marketing, Student Recruitment & Admission (MeSRA), brought higher education opportunities directly to the community, offering students, parents, and members of the public a comprehensive look at UniKL’s academic strengths and its commitment to shaping Malaysia’s next generation of skilled professionals.

Designed as a platform to inspire and prepare future leaders, the programme featured interactive STEM activities, programme showcases, and engagement sessions representing various UniKL institutes.
Visitors explored academic disciplines, career pathways, and campus life through exhibitions and live demonstrations that highlighted UniKL’s focus on employability, industry relevance, and holistic student development.
The event also emphasised UniKL’s role in strengthening the national TVET landscape. Tuan Aziz Hashim, Deputy Director of Education, Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Education Department (JPWPKL) graced the event and highlighted the growing significance of outreach initiatives in shaping Malaysia’s talent pipeline.

“Through strategic collaborations such as this, we can broaden students’ exposure to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), which has now become a key pillar in the direction of the national education system,” he said.
The programme was officiated by Prof. Dr. Zalizah Awang Long, UniKL Deputy President for Student Development and Campus Lifestyle. She commended the initiative and noted the encouraging response from schools across Kuala Lumpur.

“I would also like to share a proud achievement in 2025: UniKL received 1,050 new students from the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. Among the schools that recorded the highest number of enrolments are SMK Taman Melawati, SMK Seksyen 5 Wangsa Maju, SM Teknik Kuala Lumpur, SMK Taman Setiawangsa, and SMK Pandan Jaya,” she said.
Her remarks highlighted UniKL’s growing footprint in urban communities and its dedication to expanding educational access.
Beyond programme showcases, the UniKL Excellence Programme offered prospective students a first-hand experience of UniKL’s vibrant and inclusive culture.
