Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) continues to make its mark on the national stage as its international student representative, Amna Masood, successfully advanced to the Grand Final of the Pertandingan Pidato Antarabangsa Bahasa Melayu (PABM) 2026 Piala Perdana Menteri.
The 21-year-old Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) in Software Engineering student from Pakistan emerged among the final nine contestants after competing against 50 participants from 16 countries under the category of Pelajar Antarabangsa di Malaysia.
Having learned the language for the past 14 years, she demonstrated fluency, confidence, and strong stage presence throughout the competition while effectively delivering her ideas before the panel of judges.
According to Amna, one of the most meaningful aspects of the competition was the opportunity to interact with participants from various countries and cultural backgrounds through the shared appreciation of Bahasa Melayu.

UniKL first secured its place in the competition through the online preliminary screening round held on 4 April 2026, where Amna placed third. She later advanced to the Pusingan Awal at UniKL British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI) on 4 May 2026 and secured second place before dominating the following rounds.
Adding further significance to the accomplishment, UniKL stands as the sole representative from the private university sector, Government-Linked Universities, and MARA educational institutions to reach the Grand Final stage of PABM 2026.
The university’s participation was guided by team manager and training coordinator Dr Arman Hj Ahmad alongside coach Siti Norhayatun Ali.
