Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School (UBIS) has been awarded the title of Best Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) Institute of Education (IPMa) or Anugerah IPMa Terbaik for 2024.
This recognition highlights the institute’s outstanding academic performance and adherence to the criteria set by the main committee of the Hari Anugerah Pendidik MARA 2024.
Prof. Dr. Naziruddin Abdullah, Dean of UBIS, received the award on behalf of the institute from YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW).
“I would like to thank all the teams of the Business School for their hard work over the past year. This award serves as an inspiration for us to strive even harder in the future.
“Next year, we aim to expand further with the introduction of three new programmes: a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), a programme in FinTech, and we will launch our Graduate School of Business in 2025 with the support of our President and the Chairman of MARA,” stated Prof. Dr. Naziruddin Abdullah after receiving the award.
In addition to this prestigious accolade, four teaching staff from UniKL were honoured with the Anugerah Pendidik Cemerlang MARA. The recipients include Siti Rohana Ahmad and Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Muhamad Husaini Abu Bakar from UniKL Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zulhilmy Sahwee from UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT), and Dr. Siti Nurul Atikah Abd Halim from UniKL Malaysian Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET).
This award recognises MARA educators who meet stringent criteria, including performance evaluation, disciplinary record, personal appearance, involvement in extracurricular activities, and more.
For winning the Best IPMa Institute award, UBIS received RM5,000. Each recipient of the Anugerah Pendidik Cemerlang MARA was awarded RM500, a trophy, and a certificate of appreciation.
Meanwhile, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid, in his inauguration speech, announced the ‘Skim Latihan Pemerkasaan Pendidik MARA’, a training scheme aimed at enhancing pedagogical skills, teaching content mastery, and instructional leadership.
“Potential educators will undergo focused training either domestically or internationally. For courses abroad, MARA will select leading global institutions renowned for their educational expertise to ensure our teaching staff are future-ready,” he stated.
Also present at the event were the newly minted Secretary General of KKDW, YBhg. Datuk Muhd Khair Razman Mohamed Annuar; Chairman of MARA, YBhg. Datuk Wira Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dato’ Dusuki; the Director General of MARA, YBhg. Dato’ Sri Azhar Abdul Manaf and the President/Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azman Senin.
