Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has forged a new chapter of international collaboration through a strategic partnership with Yunnan College of Finance and Economics (YCFE), China, focusing on joint diploma programmes.
The partnership was formalised on 24 June 2025 at UniKL City Campus with the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) under the Sino-Foreign Collaborative Education Programme framework, initiated by the Chinese government.
The collaboration will begin with a joint diploma programme in Industrial Logistics, to be conducted at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC).
Representing UniKL were Ts. Dr. Mazlan Mohd Zahid, Dean of UniKL MITEC; Mr. Mohd Firdaus Hassan, Director of UniKL Malaysia China Institute (UniKL MCI); Dr. Nadia Razali, Director of the UniKL International Office; ChM. Ts. Dr. Yuhanees Mohamed Yusof, Director of the Centre for Advancement & Continuing Education (ACE); Dr. Mahzan Johar, Head of Section for ACE at UniKL MITEC; Ms. Pusparini Dewi Abd Aziz, Coordinator at UniKL MCI; and Mr. Muhammad Insan Jalil, Assistant Manager at UniKL MCI.

YCFE was represented by Mr. Zhong Xin, Vice President; Ms. Li Yue, Director of the Evaluation Centre; Ms. Li Shuang, Director of the Academic Affairs Office; and Ms. Deng Yaqi, Teaching Director of the Digital Business School. Also in attendance were Ms. Christina Tan, Vice President, and Ms. Karen Fong, Secretary-General of the Malaysian Education and National Promotion Association.
“Today’s occasion is not only a continuation of the fruitful discussions we’ve had previously but also marks a new chapter of mutual growth and academic partnership,” said Ts. Dr. Mazlan in his address.

YCFE, a key provincial university in Yunnan, has a longstanding reputation in finance and economics education.
With a history nearing 10 decades, it has grown into a multidisciplinary institution offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes in economics, finance, and related fields.

The university boasts strong international partnerships, a diverse student body, high-level talent development, and active research output, underscoring its role as a hub for academic and global collaboration.
