The Be Money Wise (B.M.W.) Workshop and Business Acumen, Start-up & Entrepreneurship (B.A.S.E.) Bootcamp provided 27 students with essential skills to become successful entrepreneurs and build strong financial foundations.
Held on 30 November and 1 December at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School’s (UBIS) Gurney Campus, the workshops were organised in collaboration with the Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC).
Participants of the B.M.W Workshop acquired a robust understanding of financial management, including strategies to generate, grow, and safeguard income.
The workshop delved into the pros and cons of various investment options available in the capital market and emphasised the importance of identifying legitimate investment schemes to avoid financial pitfalls.
Students also gained a deeper appreciation for prudent money management as a cornerstone of long-term financial stability.
Meanwhile, the B.A.S.E. Bootcamp offered an immersive experience for budding entrepreneurs.
The programme focused on developing traits essential for entrepreneurial success, such as continuously adapting and challenging mental models.
Participants learned to craft compelling value propositions, differentiate their offerings, and explore diverse revenue streams tailored to specific market segments.
Additionally, the bootcamp highlighted best practices in sales, distinguishing between traditional and consultative approaches.
Attendees also explored the critical components of cost structures for products and services, ensuring they could translate these insights into actionable strategies at the workplace.
