Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) marked a pivotal moment by securing two Letters of Intent (LoIs) at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) Exhibition & Conference 2024 and National Security (Natsec) Asia 2024 held at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.
The first LoI was inked with Kemalak Aerospace Sdn. Bhd., signifying a commitment to explore future developments within Malaysia’s aerospace sector.
Beyond research and development endeavours, this partnership envisages joint training programmes, workshops, student engagement, and internship opportunities.
Such initiatives aim to cultivate a pool of local expertise, provide real-world working experiences, enhance employability, and foster talent development for Kemalak Aerospace and related industries.
Additionally, UniKL entered another groundbreaking LoI with Global Turbine Asia Sdn. Bhd. (GTA), and Yayasan Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (YLTAT), spanning from June 2024 to May 2026.
This innovative collaboration, aligned with the Jejak Bakat Anak Tentera (JEBAT) YLTAT initiative, aims to bolster the government’s efforts to fortify education and skills training sustainability across various domains.
It seeks to enhance the employability of the children of military personnel and veterans of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) by offering industrial training and pathways for competitive job placements.
Under the aegis of the Professional Training and Education for Growing Entrepreneurs (Protégé) programme at GTA, participants will be immersed in industrial training and placement opportunities, fostering practical skills development.
GTA’s commitment includes sponsoring monthly allowances for selected participants, providing steadfast support throughout the programme, and extending similar aid to those continuing their studies at UniKL.
UniKL, in collaboration with GTA, will curate tailored Industrial Placement and Training programmes for the selected candidates, enriching their vocational education experiences.
UniKL’s President/Chief Executive Officer emphasised the significance of these LoIs, highlighting their role in aligning graduates with industry needs, underscoring UniKL’s commitment to providing adaptable talent solutions.
