Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is exploring potential collaboration opportunities with the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), following a courtesy visit to the Ministry’s Deputy Secretary-General, YBhg. Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali.
The UniKL delegation was led by its Deputy President (International, Industrial, and Institutional Partnership), Prof. Ir. Dr. Azmi Hassan, and accompanied by URSB General Manager, Encik Anuar Berahim, on 23 January.
They were joined by Mr. Mohd Talhah Zainol, Managing Director of Rimbun Emas Defence System Sdn Bhd, and Puan Nurul Ashikin Roslan, Managing Director of Tecctico Industries Sdn Bhd, at Wisma Pertahanan in Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting aimed to strengthen strategic collaboration between MINDEF, higher education institutions, and private companies to enhance national defence readiness and security.
MINDEF expressed interest in fostering smart collaborations between industries and universities, particularly to support the development of Bumiputera companies in the defence sector.
Discussions also centred on exploring localisation and technology transfer initiatives, which could significantly contribute to human capital development in technical and engineering fields.
This collaboration aligns with UniKL’s commitment to driving innovation and supporting national growth through strategic partnerships.
