A total of 23 children of Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) staff were honoured with awards in recognition of their outstanding Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results.
Each recipient received a certificate and monetary reward from the university as a token of appreciation for their academic achievements.
In addition, 115 UniKL staff members from categories such as those with chronic illnesses, disabilities, single parents, and those in need were presented with the Wakalah Zakat letters.
These staff members will receive zakat assistance from Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP).
Both the appreciation awards and Wakalah Zakat were distributed during a ceremony held on October 7 at UniKL City Campus.
Officiating the event, UniKL Chairman, YB Dato’ Sri Sh Mohmed Puzi Sh Ali, emphasised the university’s commitment to staff welfare.
“This is one of the ways we support our staff, and we will continue to improve these efforts year by year,” he said.
The event was also attended by the Deputy President (Academic & Technology), Prof. Dr. Kusysairy Abdul Kadir, Deputy President (Student Development and Campus Lifestyle), Prof. Ts. Dr. Zalizah Awang Long, Deputy General Manager of Group Human Capital, Arafiah Aman, and Acting Chief Management & Services Officer, Mariam Yahaya.
