A stronger talent pool for Malaysia’s oil and gas industry is set to be developed through a new partnership between Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and RelyOn (M) Sdn Bhd.
The collaboration was formalised with the exchange of a Letter of Intent (LoI) on 6 August at the Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council (MOGSC) Energy Talent Summit 2025.
Representing UniKL was its Deputy President (International, Industrial & Institutional Partnership), Prof. Ir. Dr. Azmi Hassan, while RelyOn was represented by its Managing Director, Syed Muzakir Aljoofre.
The exchange was witnessed by Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon, Deputy Secretary-General (Operations) of the Ministry of Human Resources.
Also present were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Redzuan Zoolfakar, Director of UniKL’s Centre for Industrial Linkages, and Dr. Muhammad Dato Azmi, Head of Industrial Linkages at UniKL MITEC.
Spearheaded by UniKL MITEC, the partnership aims to ensure Malaysia’s workforce is well-prepared to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving energy sector.
By combining expertise, UniKL and RelyOn will provide students with hands-on training, industry exposure, and certifications that equip them with the skills needed to become future leaders in the oil and gas industry.
RelyOn, known as the go-to company for firefighting and emergency medical services (EMS) certifications in Malaysia’s oil and gas sector, has pledged its support for UniKL MITEC’s initiatives in firefighting and EMS training.
The company currently operates three branches in Pasir Gudang, Kemaman, and Sarawak, serving both local and international energy companies.
