Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is exploring strategic collaborations with Majlis Agama Islam dan ‘Adat Melayu Perak (MAIPk) to support community development, particularly in Perak.
This initiative follows a courtesy visit by a UniKL delegation to MAIPk, led by UniKL Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP) through its International, Industrial, and Institutional Partnership sector.
Heading the delegation was YBrs. Assoc. Prof. Ahmad Zakuan Khairuddin, Deputy Dean (International, Industrial, and Institutional Partnership) of UniKL RCMP, accompanied by Dr. Aizat Faiz Ramli, Deputy Director of the Centre for Advancement & Continuing Education (ACE) at UniKL Chancellery, along with representatives from UniKL RCMP and UniKL MIMET.
The delegation was warmly received by YBhg. Syamsul Hazeman Md Salleh, Chief Executive Officer of MAIPk. Also present were YBrs. Encik Bakri Lee, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Management); Encik Rohizan Hj Omar, General Manager of Zakat Distribution Division; and Encik Amirudin Osman, Manager of Asnaf Economic Empowerment.
Discussions centred on potential collaborations in education, research, and socio-economic empowerment programs to uplift the underprivileged community.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to driving impactful initiatives that promote sustainable community development.
Among the planned initiatives are UniKL RCMP may offer training and courses for clinic assistants and caregivers to benefit the Asnaf community.
Meanwhile, UniKL MIMET is considering programmes in fibreglass boat fabrication, maintenance training, and outboard engine operation, service, and maintenance.
Additionally, MAIPk is looking into other possible projects and programmes that align with UniKL’s Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to further support socio-economic empowerment.
This engagement is expected to pave the way for meaningful partnerships, delivering long-term benefits to society and contributing to the advancement of the ummah.
