Continuing its tradition of honouring academic excellence, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is poised to acknowledge the accomplishment and hard work of 5,834 graduating students in its 19th Convocation Ceremony.

The celebration began with a special conferment ceremony inaugurated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, where almost 500 students received their well-deserved degrees.

“I would like to congratulate UniKL for successfully providing top-notch education in order to produce human capital that can meet the needs of industry both domestically and abroad,” expressed Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid.

As the Pro-Chancellor of UniKL, he shared his optimism for the Class of 2022, expressing his confidence that their employability rate will rival that of the previous years, which was recorded at 96.1% and 97.1% respectively.

During his keynote address at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, he stated, “I am optimistic that these graduates will continue to uphold UniKL’s legacy of academic excellence.”

The 19th convocation ceremony will be a four-day celebration of academic excellence, culminating on February 14th and bringing the number of UniKL alumni to a remarkable 79,151.

The ceremony will not only celebrate the achievements of its local graduates, but also those of 77 international graduates hailing from 26 countries around the world.

In addition, the ceremony will recognise the 41 graduates from the second cohort of the Huffaz Professional Programme, and a total of 151 master’s degree recipients, 4,299 bachelor’s degree recipients, 1,360 diploma graduates, and one recipient of a professional certificate.

The first session also highlighted the exceptional achievements of three students, Maryam Farzana Mohamad Sokri, Muhammad Razin Basar and Emyza Amirah Mazliham, who have been named as recipients of the Chancellor’s Award and Council’s Award respectively.

These awards are a testament to their excellent academic results and their meaningful contributions to the university, institute, and student community.
