Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has strengthened the business capabilities of 32 student entrepreneurs through the Genesispreneur Training Level Up 3: Business Execution and Market Readiness programme, equipping them to transform early-stage ventures into sustainable, scalable and commercially viable businesses.

Held from 24 to 26 July 2026 at Embun Resort, Lake Sahom, Perak, the intensive entrepreneurship development programme was organised by UniKL through Teknoputra and led by UniKL Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET).

The programme brought together Genesispreneurs from seven UniKL campuses: UniKL MIMET, UniKL Business School (UniKL BIS), UniKL Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI), UniKL Malaysia Italy Design Institute (UniKL MIDI), UniKL Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI), UniKL Institute of Medical Science Technology (UniKL MESTECH) and UniKL Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP).

Unlike introductory entrepreneurship programmes, Level Up 3 was designed for students already managing active businesses.

All 32 participants had completed Genesispreneur Level Up 1 and Level Up 2 before progressing to the business execution and market-readiness stage.

Programme Director Dr. Muhammad Najib Seth of UniKL Business School said Level Up 3 represented a critical stage in UniKL’s structured student entrepreneurship development pathway.

“Success in business is not driven by passion alone. It requires discipline in execution, sound financial management, operational excellence and the courage to continuously improve,” he said.

“Through Genesispreneur Level Up 3, we aim to nurture student entrepreneurs who are prepared to build sustainable, scalable and market-ready ventures.”

Over three days, participants underwent intensive sessions covering growth mindset and business expansion strategies, branding and customer acquisition, financial growth management, operations, standard operating procedures and team scaling.

The training also placed strong emphasis on digital entrepreneurship, including the use of artificial intelligence tools, digital marketing and technology-driven strategies to support business expansion.

By exposing students to AI tools for business growth, UniKL is preparing young entrepreneurs to make data-informed decisions, improve customer engagement, automate selected business processes and compete more effectively in the digital economy.

A key highlight was the involvement of IQP Solutions Chief Executive Officer Coach Zul, a professional entrepreneurship trainer and business consultant with experience in information technology and digital marketing.

Coach Zul led a series of sustainability-focused sessions on financial growth management, operational excellence, digital transformation, artificial intelligence adoption and strategies for scaling businesses.

His industry-driven approach helped participants examine practical solutions for managing business growth while maintaining financial discipline, operational efficiency and long-term commercial sustainability.

Beyond formal lessons, the participants took part in mentoring sessions, business clinics, group discussions, business transformation planning and pitching exercises.

The programme concluded with a final business pitch presentation, during which participants presented their business expansion plans to a panel of industry practitioners.

The evaluation and feedback session allowed each Genesispreneur to test the strength of their strategies and receive practical recommendations on financial planning, customer acquisition, operations, branding and market positioning.

The closing ceremony was officiated by UniKL MSI Deputy Dean of International, Industrial and Institutional Partnership, Ts. Arvind Bala Krishnan.

Five special awards were presented during the ceremony: Best Business Pitch, Best Growth Strategy, Best AI Implementation, Best Team Collaboration and Most Investment-Ready Business.

The awards recognised participants who demonstrated excellence in innovation, strategic thinking, collaboration, business execution and commercial potential.

Building on the programme’s momentum, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Enterprise), YBhg. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Azmi Hassan officially launched the GenesisModule Series at UniKL MSI.

The publication provides a structured, practical and sustainable learning framework to guide future Genesispreneur training programmes across UniKL’s campuses.

Through the GenesisModule Series, UniKL aims to ensure that student entrepreneurs receive consistent guidance as they progress from developing business ideas to executing strategies, entering markets and scaling their ventures.

Genesispreneur Level Up 3 contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It supports SDG 4: Quality Education; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth; and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
