Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) reinforced its commitment to lifelong learning and continuous professional development through the inaugural UniKL Learning Week 2026, held from 8 to 11 June 2026.
The four-day programme, themed “Learn, Grow, Inspire,” created an inclusive university-wide platform for staff to enhance their knowledge, develop future-ready skills and strengthen collaboration across departments and campuses.
A total of 1,099 participations were recorded across the programme’s talks, workshops, experiential learning activities and team-based games, reflecting the strong interest among UniKL employees in personal growth, workplace learning and professional development.

The programme opened with the City Treasure Hunt around Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, which received overwhelming participation from staff. A total of 100 participants took part in the first-day activity, working in teams to complete challenges that tested their communication, creativity, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
The strong response set a positive tone for the rest of Learning Week and demonstrated the value of experiential learning in strengthening teamwork, employee engagement and cross-departmental relationships.

Throughout the week, the programme recorded 755 participations in talk sessions, comprising 326 physical attendees and 429 online participants. Another 100 participants joined the workshops, while 56 took part in giant games and 88 participated in board game activities.
The hybrid talk format also enabled wider access for employees across UniKL’s multi-campus network, supporting inclusive digital learning and knowledge sharing beyond the physical venue.
Officially launched by UniKL’s Deputy President (Academic and Technology), Prof. Dr Kushsairy Abdul Kadir, the event highlighted the importance of continuous learning in an environment shaped by rapid technological, economic and social change.

He emphasised that learning should not be confined to formal education or structured training programmes, but should remain a lifelong journey that enables individuals to adapt, embrace innovation and remain relevant in their respective fields.

UniKL Learning Week 2026 supports the principles of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

The programme also strengthens UniKL’s visibility as a Malaysian technical university committed to lifelong learning, continuous professional development, digital learning, employee well-being, TVET education, academic excellence and sustainable human capital development.
