A total of six students from Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) have been selected to participate in a cultural and knowledge exchange programme at Guangzhou Huashang College, China, from 2 to 4 December 2025.
The students are Muhammad Iqbal Faiz Abdul Rashid, Ummi Batrisyia Balqis Shuhaimi, Arwa Farha Amril Syam, Mirrah Almas Mohamad Shanizam, Fatin Nur Athirah Md Shahir and Amirah Mawaddah Mohamad Zaki from the Bachelor of Multimedia Technology (Hons.) in Interactive Multimedia Design.
They were chosen from a group of 13 UniKL MIIT students who previously took part in the Mini Game Excellence Challenge organised by the college, where participants developed mini games inspired by Chinese culture.

In the challenge, all five UniKL MIIT teams successfully received the Special Award, competing against participants from Vietnam, Hong Kong, and several other countries.
Game Design Lecturer Ts. Suhaili Din led the student delegation, celebrating their achievements in the fully sponsored programme by Guangzhou Huashang College.
“I am proud of our students for their courage to break through globally as future-ready game designers,” she said.

For the record, the challenge introduced an overseas track for the first time and established the “Overseas Special Award,” aimed at inviting students from Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) partner universities to participate.
The initiative reinforces the value of cross-border education, echoing key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that emphasise quality education and strategic global partnerships.
The exchange programme also included an award ceremony, a game design masterclass workshop, an industry visit, and cultural activities.
