Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has been named the sole higher education institution to receive recognition from the Technology Depositories Agency (TDA) in conjunction with the agency’s 10th Anniversary Celebration Dinner.
Held on 30 November 2025 in Putrajaya, the recognition places UniKL as a key education-sector beneficiary under TDA’s Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP), alongside three technology providers: CRRC ZhuZou Locomotive Co. Ltd, Alstom Transport System Malaysia, and Meiden Malaysia.
UniKL was represented by its President/Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Ir. Dr Azman Senin, who received the award from Deputy Finance Minister YB Puan Lim Hui Ying, in the presence of the Chairman of TDA, YB Tuan Sim Tze Tzin. Also present was the Secretary of the Government Procurement Division (BPK), Ministry of Finance, YBhg. Dato’ Hajah Norison Ramli.

“UniKL has been a trusted partner and beneficiary under TDA’s ICP, working together to strengthen the nation’s technological capabilities through meaningful technology transfer.
“We collaborate closely with CRRC ZhuZou Locomotive Co. Ltd, Alstom Transport System Malaysia, and Meiden Malaysia, particularly in rail technology and equipment.
“This support empowers us to offer advanced, industry-grade facilities and hands-on learning opportunities, positioning UniKL among the leading technical universities in specialised technical education,” said Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman.

In 2022, UniKL formalised a strategic partnership with Alstom and TDA to launch the Alstom University Digital Learning Programme—a state-of-the-art curriculum designed to advance digital railway technologies at UniKL’s city campus.
The initiative stems from the Kuala Lumpur Additional Vehicle 27 (KLAV-27) project under the ICP framework.

Through ICP, UniKL has also received several high-value training assets, including a railway coach model and a full train simulator at the UniKL Asia Rail Centre, enhancing its capacity to produce industry-ready graduates.
Beyond the rail sector, UniKL also benefits from ICP initiatives in the aviation sector at Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) and the marine sector at UniKL Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET), reinforcing its role in shaping Malaysia’s next generation of technology-driven talent.
