“We used to switch roles during classes,” recalled Muhammad Ihsan Hasnol, smiling as he reminisced about his time studying at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP).
“There was one time I substituted for my brother when he was admitted to the hospital during a lab session — and the lecturer thought I was him!” he laughed.
Muhammad Ihsan shared his joy with his twin brother, Muhammad Ikram Hasnol, 21. Both graduated with a Diploma in Pharmacy during UniKL’s 22nd Convocation Ceremony.
Muhammad Ikram was equally overjoyed, saying he never imagined that both of them would receive their scrolls together, in the same course and at the same university.
According to Muhammad Ihsan, the pair chose Pharmacy because they shared a common interest in medicine and experiments.
“We wanted to study Pharmacy because our late father used to take a lot of medication.
“We wanted to understand what those medicines were for, how they worked, and what their functions were,” he explained.
For the twins, the biggest challenge was learning new and complex topics, especially those related to chemical elements, drug mechanisms, and side effects.
They also studied rare medicines that are not available in Malaysia, gaining knowledge beyond what they had previously encountered.
Their biggest strength, Muhammad Ihsan added, was their shared motivation and teamwork.
“That’s number one. We always share ideas and help each other out, so we never get stuck for long.
“We do not even need other study partners, we already have one another,” he said.
