Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) facilitated a pivotal roundtable discussion with local aerospace industry players, agencies, and government representatives on 25 August 2025.
The session brought together nearly 10 aerospace companies, particularly those from the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector, as well as the flight simulator and drone industries.
It created an avenue for participants to voice issues, challenges, and recommendations directly to the Ministry of Finance (MOF).
Key organisations present included Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), National Aerospace Industry Corporation Malaysia (NAICO Malaysia), Galaxy Aerospace (M) Sdn Bhd, Hammock Helicopter Sdn Bhd, Pen Aviation Sdn Bhd, Aerostar Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd, Ikramatic Systems Sdn. Bhd. and Asia Aerotechnic Sdn Bhd.

As part of the Budget 2026 Roadshow, UniKL was engaged as a strategic partner alongside aerospace industry players in an initiative led by MOF’s top management.
The engagement served to position the aerospace industry within the broader framework of national economic development, while also providing a platform to discuss potential government incentives and investment opportunities to further strengthen Malaysia’s aerospace sector.
