The Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health (Honours) programme at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Institute of Medical Science Technology (UniKL MESTECH) has officially been accredited by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia.
The certificate of recognition was personally presented by the Director General of DOSH Malaysia, Ir. Hj. Mohd Hatta Zakaria, to the Dean and Head of Campus UniKL MESTECH, Ts. Dr. Mohamed Zul Fadhli Khairuddin, on 22 September 2025.
Also present at the ceremony were Mr. Ahmad Nazri Ab Kader, Director of the Industrial Safety Division; Ts. Dr. Sabrina Karim, Head of Section for Environmental Health; and Ts. Nur Faiza, Programme Coordinator for the Bachelor of OSH.
With this accreditation, UniKL MESTECH graduates are granted a major advantage.
They are exempted from the compulsory 22-day Safety and Health Officer (SHO) course and examinations, enabling a fast-track pathway towards becoming competent SHO professionals.
This milestone positions UniKL MESTECH as one of the few higher learning institutions in Malaysia whose OSH degree programme is directly aligned with national regulatory standards.
It not only shortens the time and reduces the cost traditionally required for certification but also helps accelerate the supply of qualified OSH professionals for the nation’s workforce.
Last year, the programme also received international accreditation from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), United Kingdom.
These accreditations further enhance the university’s reputation and strengthen the credibility of its graduates.
