Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has welcomed this year’s batch of Aarhus Summer Programme students from Denmark for a two-week immersive academic and cultural experience.
According to UniKL Deputy President (International, Industrial & Institutional Partnership), Prof. Ir. Dr. Azmi Hassan, the Aarhus Summer Programme has involved approximately 250 students from Business Academy Aarhus and UniKL since its inception.
“Although the programme was briefly suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are thrilled to see it fully resumed with the reopening of international borders.

“These activities go far beyond textbook learning. They offer our students the opportunity to build global competencies—to understand how business operates in different social, legal, and cultural environments, and to communicate across borders with confidence.
“The programme also gives our Danish guests the chance to experience Malaysia’s vibrant multicultural identity, which we consider one of our greatest soft-power assets,” he said.
Prof. Ir. Dr. Azmi shared this during a Sharing Session with the Royal Danish Embassy, held in conjunction with the Summer Programme with Business Academy Aarhus, Denmark.
Also present at the session were Deputy Head of Mission at the Royal Danish Embassy, Ms. Merve Imren Yalcin; Head of Trade, Mr. Mark Perry; Dean of UniKL Business School (UniKL BIS), Prof. Dr. Naziruddin Abdullah; and Director of UniKL International Office (UIO), Dr. Nadia Razali.

The session fostered open discussions between students and embassy representatives, particularly on topics such as setting up regional headquarters in Malaysia, with a focus on green technology, entrepreneurship, and digital innovation.
For the record, the partnership between UniKL and Business Academy Aarhus began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 26 September 2013, establishing a strong foundation for academic and cultural collaboration.
The UniKL–Aarhus Summer Programme, launched in 2014, has since become one of UniKL’s flagship international initiatives under this partnership.
