A total of 1.3 million Malaysians — including alumni of Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) — have benefited from the initiatives by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), reinforcing its role as a key statutory agency in shaping the economic and social landscape of rural Malaysia.
The newly appointed Director-General of MARA, YBhg. Dato’ Zulfikri Osman stated that the education sector alone currently supports approximately 170,000 active students across 344 MARA educational institutions (IPMa).
“Education is one of the priority sectors for MARA, guided by the 3P approach — penyertaan (participation), pemilikan (ownership), and penguasaan (dominance).
“With this 3P approach, I believe we have achieved great success, particularly with a 97.5% graduate employability rate. Our graduates are securing jobs across various industries.
“This reflects our success in positioning MARA’s young talents within the workforce. However, our work doesn’t stop there. We are actively encouraging participation in the industry and working to empower our talents to become business owners and industry players, ultimately aiming for dominance in key sectors,” he said.
He was speaking at the Naratif Eksklusif Ketua Pengarah MARA 2025 event held on 15 July 2025.
During the event, Dato’ Zulfikri also presented a medal and certificate to Universiti Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak (UniKL RCMP) for winning a gold medal and special award at the Innovation Award by the European Exhibition of Creativity & Innovation (EUROINVENT) in Romania, and the Innovation & Initiative Co-Operative Inc. “The Inventors Circle” in Toronto, Canada.
The awards were won through their research project SPORTRXREF, an application developed as a reference for prohibited drugs in sports.
The event also featured the flag-off ceremony for the IPMa contingent participating in WorldSkills ASEAN 2025, to be held in Manila, Philippines.
Representing UniKL Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI) is Muhammad Huzairy Mohamad Thes, competing in the Mechanical Engineering CAD category.
