Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has formalised three Letters of Intent (LoIs) with industry leaders to drive initiatives in sustainable energy and food security.
These agreements were made with G Car Manufacturers Sdn Bhd, Perdana Petroleum Berhad, and Kayuh Industries Sdn Bhd during BuildXpo Malaysia 2024.
The partnerships, spearheaded by UniKL’s Gombak-based UniKL British Malaysia Institute (UniKL BMI), focus on collaborative efforts across renewable technology and sustainable agriculture.
The document exchange took place on 23 October 2024, witnessed by Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), YB Datuk Hajah Rubiah Haji Wang. Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman Senin, President/Chief Executive Officer of UniKL, signed on behalf of the university.
“These partnerships showcase our commitment to sustainability. With Kayuh Industries, we are developing protein bars from seaweed, a step towards sustainable agriculture.
“With G Car Manufacturers, we will collaborate on professional certifications in renewable technologies such as hydrogen as well as electric and electronics (E&E).
“Perdana Petroleum, with its 15 operational fleets in Miri, Kemaman, and Labuan, is also collaborating with us, offering our students hands-on experience as they train to become certified seafarers,” said Prof. Ir. Dr. Azman after the signing.
