Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI) has once again clinched the overall championship at the UniKL Students Sports Carnival (USSC) 2024, marking their third consecutive victory.
The jubilant celebration unfolded during the closing ceremony of the 18th edition of the sports carnival on July 25th.
UniKL MSI not only won the prestigious title but also secured a substantial RM50,000 prize to further enhance its campus sports programmes.
Known as MSI El Matador, UniKL MSI dominated the competition, winning 11 medals: seven golds, two silvers, and two bronzes.
Their path to glory included victories in Table Tennis Male and Female Singles, Bowling Female Single, Tennis Male Doubles, Football, Volleyball Female, and Petanque Male Single.
However, the competition was fierce. UniKL Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) put up a stellar performance, finishing a close second with a total of 14 medals, including five golds.
The MIIT Phantom also shone in the silver category with five medals, adding four bronzes to their tally.
In third place, UniKL British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI) made a strong showing with 11 medals.
As the host, UniKL MIMET finished fifth with six medals: three golds, one silver, and two bronzes.
The excitement is already building for next year’s event, with UniKL Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC), known as MITEC Southern Hunter, set to host the USSC 2025.
